So fast forward a few weeks and Ive had some serious trainer time, and Ive even ventured out to Hawthorn velodrome. Actually feeling bloody good considering Ive had some time off. Mik Godfree loaded up my hardrive with about 10GB worth of every major CX race over the past 3 years, which has got me super pumped for my euro adventure come December. I was racing a MTB stage race in Malaysia, which Ive had to can, the risk is too high with a weak elbow, and my main focus is Europe. So I'll have a 2.5 week holiday with my girlfriend instead. Beaches, forests and yummy food, and I'll find some gyms to smash out some efforts on spin bikes.
Healing up quite nicely, I actually ventured onto the streets tonight. Its at about 80%, still a little tender.

Bad beginnings.
Those of you who have the displeasure of my presence the past month or so would have heard/seen the rather nasty injury on my elbow.
After a fairly dissapointing showing at the final Dirty Deeds CX race, I was happily back in some form at Cross Melburn #2. Myself and Casey Munro were smashing it off the front, and I was taking comfort in the knowledge my last races form was just down to some illness and bad preperation. Sitting on Casey's wheel at 40km/h on a fast fire-road section I lifted my hand to say no to a drink bottle hand up. At that exact point, we hit a pothole and I went down like a sack of shit. Sliding on the gravel for about 20m, and coming to an abrupt halt left me very shocked and a bit disorientated. Luckily there were plenty of people there who were extremely helpful, and set me up on the grass to settle myself. I didnt look at my elbow, and the adrenalin must have been pumping, cos it didnt hurt, but by the look on everyones faces it wasn't great.
I had no idea how bad it was, and was still trying to organise drinks for that night with some mates in the car on the way home. It wasnt long before my weak stomach kicked in and I started to come close to passing out.
Anyway, thankfully we avoided a skin grapht, and I got some plastic surgery that night and some serious stitches.
